Biography
Takera Purdie is a third-year medical student at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine–Harlem with a strong interest in orthopedic surgery. Her passion for the field began while working as an orthopedic medical scribe and has since grown through active involvement in orthopedic research, including projects in pediatric spine surgery, sports medicine, and artificial intelligence in orthopedic care. She currently serves as Co-Technology Chair for the Ruth Jackson Orthopaedic Society (RJOS), where she leads initiatives to expand educational resources and engagement for medical students interested in orthopedics. Takera is passionate about combining research, mentorship, and service to advance the field and support the next generation of orthopedic surgeons.
