Biography
Shiv Patel is a first year medical student who has conducted research in the Kinsey Lab at UCONN. He has used mice models to study the effects of cannabinoids on behavioral neuroscience and arthritis. Shiv received funding to assess cannabinol (CBN) induced inflammatory effects induced by i.pl LPS injection (C57BL/6J), in multiple in vivo pain assays including mechanical allodynia via Von Frey filaments, grip strength and thermal preference. Findings were presented in the UCONN Spring 2024 Frontiers Exhibition.
