Biography
Salvatore Capotosto is an orthopedic surgery resident at The Mount Sinai Hospital with a passion for sports medicine inspired by his own experience as a professional soccer goalkeeper. After sustaining a career-altering injury while training with SSC Napoli's first team, he experienced firsthand the transformative impact of orthopedic care, which ultimately led him to pursue a career in medicine. As both a former athlete and patient, he brings a unique perspective to patient care, emphasizing resilience, empathy, and helping individuals return to the activities they value most. His academic interests include sports medicine, cartilage restoration, shoulder and knee surgery, and clinical outcomes research.
