Biography

Murtaja Satea, M.D., FICS (Jr.), is an Iraqi physician and researcher with a strong academic focus on plastic and reconstructive surgery, robotic surgery, and surgical innovation. He serves as a Research Fellow at the VCA Lab, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He is a Junior Fellow of the International College of Surgeons (United States Section), a Full Member of Sigma Xi—The Scientific Research Honor Society, an Editorial Board Member of BMC Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and an Assistant Editor of the Journal of Robotic Surgery. His research interests encompass reconstructive microsurgery, robotic-assisted surgery, artificial intelligence in surgery, and evidence synthesis, with numerous peer-reviewed publications and international academic collaborations.
