Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai
Biography
Lewis is a first year medical student at the Icahn School of medicine at Mount Sinai. He has prior research experience in both orthopedics and ENT. Prior projects include writing a literature review for cemented vs uncemented reverse TSA, and driving a phase 2 feasibility trial for acupuncture as an adjunct treatment for spine surgery. Roles included recruitment, follow up, statistics, protocol amendments, and manuscript writing. Both of these projects have resulted in publications. ENT project included manuscript writing, and the project has so far resulted in a national presentation.
Research interests
As a former D1 college athlete with multiple knee cartilage surgeries, my interests very much align with the group. I hope to pursue sports medicine and cartilage regeneration projects, along with outcomes research, injury rates, and return to play protocols within the athletics field.
