Isabella Merem, BS

Biography

My research experience spans sports medicine, hip preservation, shoulder surgery, and spine surgery. My work has included systematic reviews and meta-analyses, large database studies, biomechanics research, clinical outcomes research, and implant-focused translational research. I have worked on projects involving spinal implant design and biomechanical evaluation, while also analyzing clinical outcomes associated with these technologies to better understand how device development can translate from the bench to meaningful improvements in patient care. My research has also examined risk factors for failure after periacetabular osteotomy, cartilage restoration in athletes, ACL and overuse injuries, shoulder arthroplasty outcomes, syndesmosis fixation, and spinal fusion technologies. Through these projects, I have gained experience in study design, data analysis, manuscript preparation, and scientific presentation, with a growing interest in bridging biomechanical innovation with clinically relevant orthopaedic outcomes.
