Elias Schwartz, BS, BA

Biography

Elias Schwartz is a second-year medical student at the University of Michigan Medical School, with a strong foundation in musculoskeletal research developed through both clinical and translational projects. Additionally, he is a former professional ballet dancer. His academic background includes both bachelors in science and bachelors in performing arts from Brown University. He has contributed to and first authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in areas of arthroplasty, cartilage degeneration, and health care outcomes. Other research experience includes several abstract, poster, and conference presentations as well as multiple manuscript submissions currently in review covering topics in spine surgery, rotator cuff repair, and dance medicine. He aspires to be an orthopedics surgeon and physician scientist who specializes in the care of dancers and other athlete patient populations.
